The reference intake of nutrients recommended by the Chinese Nutrition Society is 1000 mg per day in the second trimester and 1200 mg per day in the third trimester, and the upper limit of calcium is 2000 mg. Drinking two cups of maternal milk powder, the calcium content reaches about 1000 mg, plus 250g of tofu, the calcium intake from food can reach nearly 1300 mg. If pregnant women still have leg cramps, they can consider whether the vitamin D supply is enough and whether the sunshine time in winter is enough, instead of blindly supplementing calcium. However, many pregnant women will choose calcium tablets for supplementation. Calcium tablets are taken orally into the gastrointestinal tract, and the absorption rate is usually very low, most of which are around 30~40%, and the highest will not exceed 60%. Most of the calcium is excreted from the body through feces. Calcium supplements are easily combined with intestinal food residues such as oxalic acid, phytic acid, phosphoric acid, and fat to form insoluble hard substances, so that the stool becomes dry and hard. The more calcium you take in at one time, the lower the absorption rate, the more calcium you excrete through the feces, and the drier and harder the stool becomes. Therefore, calcium supplementation usually causes constipation to varying degrees.

Precautions for constipation in pregnant women

1. Choose foods rich in fiber

Pregnant mothers with constipation can eat some coarser grains, such as brown rice, wheat, and corn; various vegetables, such as bean sprouts, leeks, rapeseed, chrysanthemum, celery, shepherd's purse, mushrooms, etc.; fruits rich in fiber, such as strawberries, pears, figs, melons, etc.

2. Choose foods that contain more fatty acids

Various nuts and plant seeds can also effectively relieve constipation, such as walnuts, cashew kernels, various melon seeds, sesame seeds, etc.; fish rich in fatty acids.

3. Choose foods that promote intestinal peristalsis

Eating more bananas, honey, jam, maltose and other foods can promote intestinal peristalsis and help defecation. You can also drink some yogurt to relieve constipation.

4. Choose foods rich in vitamins

Such as animal liver, egg yolk, soybeans, bean sprouts, celery, lettuce, seaweed, walnuts, peanuts, etc.

5. Choose foods that are high in water content

Such as fresh milk, homemade fresh fruit juice, etc.

6. Eat three meals a day normally

In particular, you must eat breakfast, avoid empty stomach, and eat more foods rich in fiber, such as brown rice, malt, whole wheat bread, milk, fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. Try to eat less spicy foods and drink less carbonated drinks.

4. Pineapple seed porridge:

5. Fig porridge:
