1. Mild diarrhea

Mild diarrhea generally does not require special treatment. As long as you pay attention to giving your baby plenty of water, changing diapers in time, and ensuring adequate rest, he or she will recover in two or three days. If your baby has severe diarrhea and it does not improve for more than three days, you should take your baby to the hospital for treatment in time.

2. Fever

Mild fever generally does not require treatment. Just strengthen observation, get enough rest, drink plenty of water, keep warm, and prevent secondary infection. If the body temperature is high, go to the hospital for symptomatic treatment and give fluids when necessary.

3. Rash

Among the rashes that occur after vaccination without other reasons, urticaria is the most common, which usually occurs within a few hours to a few days after vaccination. Special rashes, such as sparse rashes that appear 5 to 7 days after measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines, generally disappear in 7 to 10 days. Papules, blisters, or herpes may also appear 12 to 21 days after the injection of varicella vaccine, but generally there are not many, about less than 10, and no scabs will form. All can be cured with treatment and the recovery is good.

Finally, if your baby has side effects after leaving the hospital, such as swelling at the injection site, swollen lymph nodes in the armpit on the injected side, fever, headache, vomiting, etc., you must go to the hospital for treatment. In addition, if your baby's behavior is unusual, it is best to have him or her examined by a pediatrician.

If a lump appears, you can use hot compress, which can promote blood circulation in the lump area, accelerate the absorption of the liquid medicine, and play a role in dissipating the lump. The sooner the hot compress is applied, the better the effect. Put a hot towel on the vaccination site for 5 minutes and change it every 5 minutes, alternating back and forth. Massage can also relieve the pain when appropriate.

Another method is to cut a fresh potato into slices, about 0.7 cm thick, slightly larger than the lump. Then dig a small hole in the middle of the potato so that it does not cover the needle hole, and place it on the vaccination site, changing it every 15 minutes, and it will be fine after a few days.
