How to get your baby to speak as early as possible

The language development progress of each infant is different. Some babies learn quickly, while others learn slowly. If you want to stimulate your child's language development, you should talk to your child more often, use storytelling and picture books to help your baby learn words and the usage of words, and repeat them over and over until they are memorized.

Baby language development stages

Three to 12 months: During this period, babies are more likely to laugh, coo, and try to communicate with gestures. Babbling is an important part of language development, so when you find your baby babbling a certain word, encourage him to continue practicing it.
December to 17 months: During this period, your baby will begin to try to speak one word. It is also during this period that you will find that your baby often tries to speak and communicate. If you find that your baby is unusually quiet, you may need to take your baby to the doctor for examination.
18 months to 2 years: As your baby approaches 2 years old, his vocabulary will increase. Now he may be able to say 300 words and try to speak in short sentences. Every baby's language development is different, so if your baby doesn't say as much as you expect, don't worry.
Between the ages of two and three: At this stage, your baby can speak longer and more complex sentences and begin to answer your questions easily. Most strangers can understand what your child is saying, and your baby can also play and talk at the same time and handle multiple tasks.
Between three and five years old: Your child is now a preschooler and will speak in longer and more complex sentences. Now he will start to be curious and ask you questions about many different things. This is a good time to teach him to learn simple sentences and words from books.
Between five and six years old: At this time, the baby is close to the primary school stage. He will understand a lot of words and know how to put them together. He can also have a better sentence structure now.

How to encourage your baby to speak

Pretend he can talk: Even if your baby just babbles or makes funny noises, it's a good sign that he's trying to talk. Pretend your baby can talk and have a conversation with him.
Answer your baby's words: If your child starts to speak on his own, let him speak and explain himself. Pat him on the back and answer his questions. A little praise goes a long way with your baby.
Repeat what has been said: If your baby successfully says a sentence, you can try to make the correct sound and repeat the sentence several times to help your child better understand the pronunciation of the sentence.
Tell some bedtime stories: Telling bedtime stories is a great way to let children recognize things and be interested in the pronunciation of sentences. The story can be repeated until the baby memorizes it, because each time the baby hears it, he can gain something new.
Use picture books to teach: Now is a good time to provide your baby with picture books and picture books. They can help your baby speak and make simple words, such as ball, tree, etc.
Introduce new words occasionally: Although your child may not understand what it means, it doesn’t matter. As long as you continue to teach, he will eventually know what the sentence you are teaching now means.
Describe what's going on around you: If you take your baby out and find anything that excites him, try to describe and explain it to him. If you're at home, you can also tell him what you're doing, such as cleaning or cooking.
