Artificially puncture the amniotic membrane or inject contraction agents: Generally, intravenous injection of oxytocin hormone can promote labor. Oxytocin is a uterine contraction agent that not only promotes labor, but also shortens the duration of labor pains. During the delivery process, the injection amount will vary depending on the condition of the pregnant woman. In addition, if a jelly or suppository containing prostaglandins is placed in the vagina, it can relax the cervix and promote the opening of the uterine mouth. Usually, the uterine mouth is opened first through this method, and then the oxytocin is injected.

Premature babies over 40 weeks of pregnancy require induced delivery: After 40 weeks of pregnancy, as the fetus continues to grow, the risk of delivery increases day by day, and because the placenta ages and cannot perform basic functions, induced delivery should be used. If a pregnant woman is pregnant with a premature baby, she cannot provide sufficient oxygen to the fetus during labor pains, and the placenta does not have a protective effect, so the life of the fetus will be seriously threatened. In addition, if the pregnant woman suffers from diabetes, pregnancy toxemia and other diseases, induced delivery should also be used. If a pregnant woman has diabetes, it is easy to cause fetal death in the late pregnancy, so induced delivery must be performed at 38 weeks of pregnancy. If a pregnant woman suffers from hypertension or kidney disease, induced delivery should also be performed.

If labor is delayed due to weak labor pains, induction labor is needed: If the labor process is too slow, induction labor should be implemented. If the fetal head is not in a good position, or the birth canal is too narrow, or the uterine contractions are too weak, induction labor should also be performed. If the pregnant woman is pregnant with twins, induction labor is recommended. Induction labor is more effective when the cervix is ​​opened in advance. Therefore, before the pregnant woman has labor pains, she must carefully observe the state of the cervix and judge the size of the fetal head and the birth canal, and then induce labor according to the actual situation.

If the fetus needs to be removed quickly during delivery, suction delivery should be used. For example, when the fetus consumes too much energy, the pregnant woman cannot exert force normally, the uterine contraction force is reduced, and the delivery time is delayed, suction delivery should be used. The suction delivery method takes longer than the forceps delivery method, but it is relatively safe and helps the natural rotation of the fetus. In addition, suction delivery can replace caesarean section and complete the entire delivery process within the first stage of delivery.

May cause hematoma: During the suction delivery process, the suction cup (metal or stainless steel) should first be placed tightly above the fetus' head in the pregnant woman's abdomen, and then the suction cup should be pulled at the moment of uterine contraction to gently pull out the fetus. If the cup is removed more than once, or the fetus is in a bad condition, forceps delivery or caesarean section should be used. If the suction time exceeds 20 minutes, it will break the fetus' hair or leave a mark of skin bleeding on the fetus' head, and in severe cases it will cause hematoma. However, the hematoma will disappear naturally 2 to 3 months after the baby is born.

The instrument that looks like scissors is a forceps. The method of using forceps to clamp out the fetal head is called forceps delivery. The bite force generated by forceps delivery is greater than the suction force of suction delivery. Therefore, forceps delivery can only be used when suction delivery is useless. If the delivery time is too long, the fetal head will be squeezed by the birth canal for a long time, which can easily cause fetal death or brain damage. At this time, forceps delivery is needed to quickly clamp the fetus out of the uterus.

Only in emergency situations can forceps delivery be used: before forceps delivery, the mother must first be given a simple anesthesia, and then the forceps are inserted into the birth canal from the left to the right, and the fetus's head is accurately clamped out. Generally, the part of the baby clamped by the forceps will leave a red mark, but it will gradually disappear after 2 to 3 days, so it will not affect the brain health of the fetus. If the delivery time is delayed too long, the fetus will not be able to breathe oxygen in time, resulting in brain hypoxia and brain damage.
