How to take care of yourself after childbirth? Precautions for postpartum care

It is very important for women to take care of their body after giving birth. If you do a good job of postpartum care, your health will recover quickly, but if you don't pay attention to these, it will be harmful to your health~

Many people know that women are prone to bad temper and mood swings during pregnancy. However, you may not know that such problems can also occur after childbirth. In addition, there are other conditions after childbirth, such as lack of sleep.

Common Postpartum Problems

1. Feeling depressed

Many mothers may feel depressed or even have psychological problems such as postpartum depression. In fact, this is a normal phenomenon. It is usually caused by hormones, pain from illness, personality and emotions, which lead to emotional instability in mothers.

2. Body pain

Whether it is a natural birth or a caesarean section, mothers have to endure the pain of the body after delivery. If you are not careful, the wound may tear. Therefore, you should pay attention to recuperation during the confinement period and get out of bed to move around appropriately. Do not do strenuous exercise or heavy housework to avoid affecting your body's recovery.

3. Lack of sleep

The mother has to shoulder the responsibility of feeding the baby and even taking care of all the baby's affairs. The newborn's sleep schedule is irregular, and coupled with the physical and mental fatigue after delivery, it is easy to suffer from lack of sleep after delivery, which affects the mental state and physical recovery.

4. Postpartum diseases

Some mothers are prone to postpartum diseases, such as mastitis, postpartum fever, postpartum myositis, postpartum anemia, etc. It is not good for physical health and may even cause emotional distress in mothers. If there are postpartum diseases, they should be treated in time and the best treatment period should not be delayed to avoid affecting physical recovery.

Don't do these things after giving birth

"Confinement" is a unique "treatment" for Chinese women, which is closely related to the postpartum recovery and physical and mental health of new mothers. Therefore, there are some things that new mothers cannot do arbitrarily after giving birth.

1. Have sex early

After giving birth, neither the uterus nor the vagina of a woman has recovered, and the vagina will be damaged to varying degrees during childbirth. If sexual intercourse during the confinement period causes infection, retrograde infection will cause women to suffer from serious gynecological diseases, which is very harmful to the health of the mother. In particular, some women resume ovulation very quickly, and ovulation may resume within less than a month after giving birth. At this time, the psychological and physiological conditions of the mother are not suitable for pregnancy again, and the harm to the woman can be imagined. It is recommended that women do not have sex within 45 days after giving birth, and sex afterwards must be carefully avoided to avoid the harm caused by accidental pregnancy.

2. Long squats

Some mothers have to take care of their children and do some housework. Because the birth canal and vulva are damaged, it is uncomfortable to sit down to do things. Some mothers squat to do dry cleaning, pack baby's belongings, etc. Experts remind that squatting after childbirth is not conducive to the recovery of women's pelvic floor muscles, and squatting for a long time may cause uterine ectopic or prolapse. Women should avoid squatting for a long time as much as possible after childbirth. It is best to walk around appropriately, sitting or standing is appropriate. In addition, women are weak after childbirth and should not be overworked. Even if conditions are limited, they should not force themselves to do all the housework. You can ask your husband to help.

3. Diet is too stimulating and nutritious

Within one month after delivery, mothers should avoid eating spicy, greasy and other irritating foods, even if these foods are delicious. If you insist on breastfeeding, you should pay more attention to eating more light and nutritious foods during breastfeeding, which is not only conducive to the secretion of milk, but also very helpful for the recovery of women's uterus. You can drink some nutritious soups, but it is not advisable to eat thick soups containing too much fat, which is not conducive to the digestion and absorption of babies. Eat more whole grains and blood-enriching foods, which are nutritious and healthy, and fruits and vegetables are also indispensable.

4. No exercise or strong exercise

According to the old tradition, women have to lie in bed and take good care of themselves within one month after giving birth. In fact, this is an unscientific way of sitting the month. In fact, women should exercise properly during the postpartum month. Exercise helps to discharge lochia and promote the rapid recovery of the uterus. If physical conditions permit, it is best to insist on taking a walk in the room every day, but strong exercise is not suitable for postpartum women. Strong exercise can cause postpartum pain such as back pain, and even postpartum disease, which is not conducive to future health. Of course, the old custom that you can't wash your hair or take a bath during the confinement period is not scientific. You should develop good habits of cleanliness and hygiene during the confinement period, which can effectively avoid problems such as vulvar infection, but you must pay attention to not sitting in a bath to avoid infection.

How to care after childbirth

"Sitting on the moon after childbirth" is a special "treatment" for Chinese women. A good sitting on the moon after childbirth can help women get a good rest and recovery after childbirth, which is very beneficial to their physical and mental health in the future. Therefore, new mothers should not act arbitrarily after childbirth, otherwise it will be detrimental to their health.

Pay attention to life

1. You must rest for a month or a month and a half. For two weeks after delivery, you must stay in bed except for eating and going to the bathroom. If you sit or walk around frequently, it may cause uterine prolapse.

2. Prepare two or three pieces of white gauze with a width of about 30-40 cm and a length that can wrap around the abdomen 12 and a half times. Wear a belly band tightly after childbirth to prevent internal organs from sagging. Sagging internal organs will lead to gynecological diseases, protruding abdomen, and ugly body shape. Wearing a belly band can also improve the obvious abdomen before childbirth. Belly bands cannot be replaced by ordinary girdle pants and belly bands. Because they are not only ineffective, but also counterproductive.

3. In the first two weeks, you can only use warm wine water for sponge bath.

The method is to boil water and rice wine in half, add a little salt, soak a towel, wring it out, and rub it on the body. You can take a shower from the third week, and take a bath after one month. (For those who have a natural birth)

4. Use boiled water to warm up before washing your face and brushing your teeth. You can use skin care products.

5. Washing your hair is strictly prohibited because the scalp cannot get cold.

6. Do not hold the baby. Otherwise, the internal organs may sag. You can feed the baby lying on your side.

7. Do not bathe your child, otherwise it may cause backache and numbness in hands and feet. Therefore, you should let your husband or others bathe your child.

8. Have a quiet and comfortable environment. Draw the curtains to protect your eyes when the sun is too strong. Do not blow the wind, because the pores of the whole body are open after delivery, and blowing the wind can easily cause headaches and joint pain, etc. Do not even use a fan.

9. Do not climb stairs during the confinement period, and do not lift heavy objects within six months after delivery to avoid sagging of internal organs.

10. Do not shed tears, otherwise your eyes will age prematurely and may develop into glaucoma or cataracts. Read less books, newspapers and watch less TV, and make sure your eyes have enough rest.

Pay attention to diet

1. Eat small, frequent meals.

2. Don’t eat salt, raw or cold food. (There is a reason, but it’s too long so I won’t go into details.)

3. Avoid eating vegetables and fruits within half a month. You can eat some carrots. Eat fruits with less water content during the confinement period.

4. Avoid eating fish and meat within half a month, but you can eat more liver, etc. Because the tired body cannot fully absorb the nutrients of fish and meat, too much nutrients will only increase the burden on the body and cause the phenomenon of "deficiency cannot be supplemented". You should start eating in the third week.

5. Cook food with sesame oil, ginger and rice wine. The ginger should be fried thoroughly.
