Is it necessary to go to a confinement center? How much does it cost?

Postpartum depression is an inevitable psychological disease for many pregnant mothers after giving birth. Faced with the panic of the newborn baby, the weak body and the inability to take care of the baby, if the husband neglects himself, then postpartum depression will easily follow. At this time, if you go to a confinement center, will it be much easier?

Six reasons why you should go to a confinement center

The fees at confinement centers are high, so many people hesitate, and even many boys think: My mother (= mother-in-law) can help me! Why spend so much money to stay in a confinement center? They think girls just want to enjoy themselves. I only stayed for 10 days (my room is at least 10 days). If the budget does not allow you to stay for a full stay, I think you should stay at least 7 to 10 days. Staying too long can sometimes be boring. But why do people recommend confinement centers so much?

1. Postpartum meals are suitable for your physical condition

In fact, it is not suitable to eat too much nourishing food right after being discharged from the hospital, such as sesame oil chicken, Shenghua soup, and the confinement meals that mothers-in-law used to know. From the perspective of modern medicine, eating too much too early may cause bleeding or slow healing of wounds. In addition, the nutritional balance of professional confinement meals varies. After all, mothers-in-law buy their own food when they cook for them. For convenience, you may eat the same thing in a row. (For example, I went back to my mother-in-law's house for two days in the middle of my confinement, and the lunch and dinner dishes were exactly the same... although my mother-in-law's cooking skills are good). For example, I cooperated with three confinement meal manufacturers in the middle of my confinement, and I could eat them in rotation.

2. Get enough rest

If your mother-in-law helps you with your confinement, would you feel comfortable leaving all the dishes, dirty clothes and bottles for you and your baby to wash for her? (Your mother might feel more comfortable, but I can’t leave everything to my mother, otherwise it would be very tiring)

How can you rest if there are noisy guests at home? At least you have a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed in the confinement center, and there is a baby room to help you take care of your baby, so you can sleep well at night (this is very important).

No matter how much your mother-in-law and mother-in-law help you, can you bear to leave your baby to them and let them stay awake to feed the baby in the middle of the night? If you breastfeed in the middle of the night, it will be difficult for you to sleep well... There is a nursery in the middle of the month, and you can leave your baby in the nursery when you are very tired or a little depressed.

3. Professionals will care about your wounds and milking conditions

This question is very simple. Is your mother-in-law a professional or is your nurse a professional? When you don't know how to express milk or your breasts are blocked, do you want your mother-in-law to teach you or do they help you express milk? I can accept professionals to check my milk, but not acquaintances. I don't know about you. The nurse will check your milk every day and check if you have postpartum depression. Even some professional questions can be answered immediately.

4. No one interferes with your decision

What mothers-in-law do is experience, not expertise. Experience will be subjective, but expertise will not. No one will interrupt you while you are getting familiar with your baby. A new mother will panic when facing a crying baby, but she will also try to figure it out. In a confinement center, you can try to solve the problem by yourself without asking for help, but at home, the mother-in-law will probably rush to intervene as soon as she hears the crying, which may make the mother even less able to learn and more panicked. (The principle is just like the person in the passenger seat who keeps giving instructions when a new mother is on the road)

5. Your baby will receive professional care

If a newborn has jaundice or other problems that need attention right after birth, there will be a pediatrician's visit in the middle of the month, and 24-hour care in the nursery, so there is no need to worry that no one will notice the baby's physical condition.

6. Someone can teach you

How to change your baby's diaper, how to bathe your baby, how to breastfeed...someone can teach you.

The significance of going to a confinement center

The reason I went to stay in the mid-term care home was, firstly, so I could take a break, and secondly, so someone could teach me. I recovered faster from natural childbirth, and I felt much better after 10 days. And I think it is important that no one interferes. Every time I take the baby to the room, I will try to handle the problem myself first. If I really don’t know how, as long as I make a phone call, someone will come up to help. Gradually, I became very proficient. After the mid-term care home, I went back to my parents’ home and took care of it by myself during the day without any panic.

I personally think that the middle of the month is a good buffer, so you don’t have to go to the battlefield right away, even if it’s only 7 to 10 days. My husband’s friend lives with her husband’s family, and his wife didn’t stay in the middle of the month after giving birth. As a result, she didn’t have enough knowledge about breastfeeding hygiene, and it was inconvenient to stay at her husband’s family, so her milk stopped early and she had a bit of postpartum depression...

(Bye, this friend’s wife got pregnant with her second child recently. This time her husband was smart enough to book a confinement center early. He said he doesn’t want to go through the same process again. If she can breastfeed successfully, the money she saves on milk powder will be more than enough to cover the cost of staying in a confinement center.) The above is not an advertisement for confinement centers. It is my own experience that I want to share.

There is another advantage of living in the middle of the month. When you are really bored, you can sneak out for a walk. However, if you are under the care of your mother-in-law, you may be under 24-hour supervision and not allowed to go out...

For example, during the two days when I was out of confinement, my mother-in-law even asked me to eat in my room, not to mention if your mother-in-law is in confinement and can't wash her hair, the happiest thing for me during confinement is to go to the hair salon opposite the confinement every two days to wash my hair, and then buy a hot milk tea or chocolate and take a walk~

It is also very important for postpartum mothers to keep a happy mood~~

Times have changed, and the method of confinement should also be revised

Combining the views of many Chinese and Western doctors, we can know that the importance of confinement after childbirth for modern women is universally recognized (women at home and abroad must take a certain period of maternity leave after childbirth), but the content and focus of confinement need to be revised. For example, the necessity of consuming large amounts of sesame oil, as well as the do's and don'ts of drinking water, bathing, and washing hair, should all be increased or decreased according to the different living conditions of modern life. At the same time, special care should be provided for the diet and daily life of postpartum women according to the physical differences between Orientals and Westerners.

It is understandable that you do not need to eat a lot of fish and meat during the confinement period, because modern people's nutritional sources are no longer as scarce as in ancient times. Regarding the key points of confinement for modern mothers, it is emphasized that:

1. Get enough sleep

2. Nutritional supply should be balanced according to physical condition

3. Postpartum pelvic and sacroiliac joint recovery

4. Maintain smooth lactation
