Causes of Anemia

1) One is insufficient production: including nutritional anemia caused by deficiency of hematopoietic substances such as iron, folic acid, and VtB12, and hematopoietic dysfunction such as aplastic anemia;

2) The second is excessive destruction: one is congenital hereditary anemia caused by intrinsic defects of red blood cells, such as hereditary spherocytosis, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (also known as favism) and thalassemia; the other is non-hereditary anemia caused by external factors of red blood cells, such as neonatal hemolytic disease, autoimmune hemolysis, infectious anemia, etc.;

3) The third is hemorrhagic anemia caused by excessive loss, such as acute hemorrhage, chronic gastrointestinal inflammation, and parasitic diseases.

Most cases of anemia in children are caused by malnutrition, the most common of which are iron deficiency anemia and nutritional megaloblastic anemia (vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency). Nutritional anemia can also be caused by improper food combination, chronic diarrhea, repeated infections, and impaired absorption of iron, Vt12, and folic acid.

Symptoms of anemia

Anemia can be observed in many ways: 1. Look at the skin color. The baby's skin color, lips, and nails are pale. 2. Look at the spirit. The baby is inactive, sleepy, inattentive, and crying. 3. Poor immunity and prone to illness. Parents can also take the baby to do a simple blood test or trace element test to see if the baby is lacking in certain nutrients. Generally speaking, most babies at this stage suffer from iron deficiency anemia. Pay attention to eating more iron-rich foods in daily life. Babies with severe anemia should also follow the doctor's arrangements and take some iron tablets to improve blood supplementation. Iron tablets usually suitable for babies include Iron Tablets, which do not harm the baby's stomach and intestines and are mild blood and iron supplements.
