Correct breastfeeding posture and breastfeeding precautions

I believe that for nursing mothers, the first worry after giving birth is to learn how to breastfeed. Many times, the milk flow may not be smooth, and the nipples may be completely damaged in a few minutes without any milk. It is better to let Liang Huizi, a senior confinement care instructor who has served more than a hundred mothers, explain what you can do if you want to successfully breastfeed.

Feeding posture

The correct feeding posture is the first step to successful breastfeeding. First, the baby's belly should be against the mother's belly, the chin should be close to the mother's breast, and the head should be slightly tilted up; when sucking, the lips should be opened and the nipple should be clamped between the upper palate and the tongue. Teacher Huizi said: "Basically, you can lie down and feed half an hour after giving birth. Even if there is no milk, you can stimulate milk secretion through the baby's sucking."

Breast Massage Techniques

Whether you are breastfeeding or using a breast pump, you can massage your breasts beforehand to unclog the milk ducts.

Step 1: Use 2 to 3 fingers to gently circle from the outside toward the nipple, remembering to lift the breast with your other hand.

Step 2: Use about 4 fingers to clear the breast from the nipple to the outside.

Step 3: Place your thumb and index finger around the areola, press and squeeze to imitate the frequency and strength of baby's sucking, and massage the areola.

Step 4: Place your thumb and index finger on your nipple and massage gently.

Lactation-promoting diet

If the mammary ducts are not yet unobstructed and the breasts begin to swell and become blocked 3 or 4 days after delivery, Teacher Huizi teaches that you can add milk-producing ingredients such as fenugreek, tongcao, tangerine peel, kiwi fruit, scallion whites and scallion roots to fried rice tea or soup and drink them together to help with milk production.

The most common soup is papaya, lean meat and fish soup, which is paired with tangerine peel, quash, lotus seeds, peanuts, kiwi fruit, longan, etc. Fish can also be

Silver croaker, bull loach, stone mackerel, etc. These fish are high in calcium, strengthen the spleen and stomach and have positive energy.

Other recommended soups: octopus lotus root peanut soup, peanut chicken feet soup, water fish lean meat soup, etc.

Foods that cannot be eaten during weaning

Avoid eating: fish maw, light black beans, leek, ginseng, hawthorn, fried malt, suckling duck, pork run, etc.
