Can I have a normal birth with cervical erosion? Does cervical erosion affect normal birth?

Many women are troubled by gynecological diseases, which not only endanger women's own health, but also affect the fetus. Many pregnant women have symptoms of cervical erosion during pregnancy. Expectant mothers must pay attention to it in time. Severe cervical erosion will affect the birth of the fetus.

Does cervical erosion affect normal delivery?

If it is mild cervical erosion, you can give birth naturally, but it is best to treat it as soon as possible after giving birth; Although mild cervical erosion is the lightest type, once it reaches moderate or even severe cervical erosion, it may cause many symptoms, and its harm should not be underestimated. Some infertile women are caused by cervical erosion. Not only will it not cause infertility, even if you are lucky enough to get pregnant, it will affect future production. If it is moderate or severe cervical erosion, it is best not to give birth naturally, because patients with moderate or severe cervical erosion have a wider erosion surface and deeper infiltration. There is also a large amount of sticky secretions at the cervical opening. When women give birth, they are likely to be infected with bacteria, which will cause certain difficulties in giving birth naturally.

Treatment of cervical erosion

Drug treatment: suitable for mild and moderate patients.

The method is drug corrosion: use a cotton swab to dip 10% silver nitrate solution and 5% potassium dichromate and apply it on the eroded surface, then wipe off the excess liquid with a saline cotton ball. Silver nitrate is used once a week, 2 to 4 times as a course of treatment; potassium dichromate can be used 1 to 2 times.

Physical therapy: Suitable for patients with moderate to severe cervical erosion.

Methods include electric ironing, freezing, laser, infrared, microwave irradiation, etc. After physical therapy, a large amount of watery vaginal discharge will occur, and the vulva should be kept clean. During the period when the wound is not completely healed (4 to 8 weeks), sexual intercourse, tub bathing and vaginal douching are prohibited. After that, check monthly to observe the healing of the wound.

Surgical treatment: Suitable for those who have not been cured for a long time and have children. Cervical cone resection can be performed.

How to prevent cervical erosion before pregnancy

1. Pay attention to sexual hygiene. Properly control sexual life and avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation.
2. Take contraceptive measures promptly and effectively.
Reduce the incidence of artificial abortion and induced labor, and reduce the chances of man-made trauma and bacterial infection.
3. If the menstrual cycle is too short or too long, active treatment is required.
4. Prevent instruments from damaging the cervix during delivery.
5. If cervical laceration is found after delivery, it should be sutured promptly.
6. Have regular gynecological examinations. If cervical inflammation is found, seek prompt treatment.
