How to deal with nosebleed urgently?

1. Most of the bleeding sites of children's noses are in the front of the nasal cavity. The general characteristics of bleeding are: small amount, frequent, and easy to stop. Emergency treatment methods for nosebleeds Once you encounter a child's nose bleeding, let him lower his head immediately, and immediately use the thumb and index finger to continuously press the nostrils on both sides of the child, pressing towards the nasal septum. Under normal circumstances, as long as the pressure is applied for more than 5 to 10 minutes, most children's nose bleeding can be stopped. When pinching the child's nose to stop bleeding, comfort the child, don't let him panic and cry, tell the child to open his mouth wide to breathe, and it will be fine in a while. Adults should not be nervous, otherwise it will affect the child's mood.

2. While pressing the nose to stop bleeding, you can apply a cold towel on the child's forehead. Cold compress will shrink blood vessels and also stop bleeding. Don't do this when your child has a nosebleed. In the past, many parents often used some methods to stop bleeding when their children had nosebleeds, but they were actually not appropriate.

Use tissue or cotton wool to plug the nostrils to stop the bleeding. Because using tissue or cotton wool to plug the nasal cavity cannot achieve the purpose of compressing and stopping bleeding, and repeatedly stuffing tissue into the nose will expand the bleeding wound and make the nose bleeding worse.

3. Let the child tilt his head back to stop the bleeding. Most parents think that if the child tilts his head back and raises his nose, the blood will not flow out of the nostrils. In fact, this is very dangerous. Because after tilting the head back, although the blood does not flow out, it does not stop, and may flow to the back of the nasal cavity, mouth, trachea and even lungs. In mild cases, it may cause tracheitis and pneumonia; in severe cases, it may cause tracheal obstruction, difficulty breathing, and even life-threatening. If the child swallows all the blood, it may also cause stomach discomfort or pain. Moreover, doing so will make it impossible for the doctor to estimate the amount of bleeding, which is not conducive to treatment.
