The sequence of the birthing process is extremely painful throughout

For many mothers, the pain they experience during childbirth is probably the highest level of pain they have ever experienced. Some people describe the pain as being like having 20 fingers broken at the same time. Can you imagine such pain?

Sequence of the birthing process

Below, let everyone, especially men, understand the process of natural childbirth and how arduous it is for mothers. These psychological and physical battles and torments cannot be achieved without a little endurance and courage! Natural childbirth is mainly divided into three stages, namely the cervical dilation stage, the fetal delivery stage and the placental delivery stage.

First stage of labor: cervical dilation

Starting from regular uterine contractions with intervals of 5 to 6 minutes, until the cervix is fully dilated, there will be spotting and water breaking, followed by labor pains. For primiparas, the first stage of labor takes about 11 to 12 hours, while for multiparas, it takes about 6 to 8 hours. Only some women will see spotting and water breaking after the cervix dilates. Some women think that water breaking and spotting are like the feeling of having to urinate, but there is actually a difference. If the mother feels "wet underwear" during the due date, remember to check it out quickly to confirm that it is spotting or water breaking, and then you can take the packed clothes to the hospital.

After the water breaks, the labor pains will begin. Labor pains are the pain caused by the contraction of the uterus. As the uterus contracts, the fetus can slowly descend from the cervix, and the fetus is pushed by continuous contraction and tension. If the number of labor pains becomes more and more frequent, it means that the process of delivery has begun. When the cervix is dilated to four fingers, the mother can go to the delivery room to prepare. Many mothers have said that this is the most painful and difficult time, and some even say that they want to kneel down in pain. When the cervix is dilated to ten fingers, the doctor or midwife will begin to guide the mother on how to adjust her breathing and prepare to enter the second stage of labor.

Second stage of labor: delivery of the fetus

Although the mother will feel nervous, she should try to stay calm during this process, follow the doctor's instructions, and use her abdominal and pelvic muscles to push the baby out of her belly. Do not blindly use force or cry, as this will only consume more energy. After the baby is born smoothly, the doctor will cut the baby's umbilical cord, and the second stage of labor is completed.

The third stage of labor: Placenta delivery

This process takes about 5 to 15 minutes. After giving birth, a normal mother can just pull the placenta out. Some mothers may have placental adhesions, and the doctor will take it out by hand. If the situation is more complicated, the doctor needs to perform surgery to remove it. In addition, some mothers will also perform episiotomy at this time. When the fetus has a large head or a strong body, if the episiotomy is not performed in time to remove the fetus, the baby may suffocate. Therefore, whether to perform episiotomy depends on the baby's condition, and not every pregnant mother must perform it. Women are very tired for 10 months of pregnancy, and giving birth to a child naturally is another greater challenge and painful test. In order to be a mother, many women have exhausted their energy and endurance. Therefore, "Mom is really great" is not just talk. After reading this, remember to love your mother or your wife who gave birth to your children more!
