Giving birth is a painful and happy process, but there are many things you need after giving birth. When you go to the hospital to give birth, you usually need to prepare a delivery bag. What should you prepare in the delivery bag? Here is a delivery bag list from a careful mother, so you can go to the battlefield easily~ As a new mother, pregnancy and childbirth are an unknown world for us. When my belly is getting bigger and bigger, I start to look forward to the birthing process but also fear the harm. The preparation of a maternity bag is the first issue. I searched the Internet for a long time and finally compiled a maternity bag list that suits me. I will share it with you item by item here. At the end of the article, I attached my maternity checklist for reference by all expectant mothers~ Mothers should remember to ask the hospital whether they have prepared any items and quantities for delivery, so that the preparation process can be more complete. What should I prepare when I go to the hospital to give birth?Documents: ID cards and seals of the couple, mother's health insurance card, mother's handbook, gold coins, pen, notebook (all in one bag) Nursing pads: Prepare at least one pack. Mothers who plan to give birth naturally will use them when they are waiting for delivery. Mothers who have given birth by caesarean section will also need to use them because they will have a urinary catheter after delivery. They will be placed on the bed to prevent secretions such as amniotic fluid and lochia from getting on the mattress. They will also be placed on the bed after delivery because there is a lot of lochia. The size can be purchased according to your needs. The remaining pads can be used as diaper pads. You can buy them in major supermarkets and pharmacies. If you mind, you can go to several stores to compare prices. Maternity pads (postpartum sanitary napkins): For natural births, you can prepare a pack. Mothers who give birth naturally will have wounds and sutures on their perineum, so they need to use maternity pads that are flat and not mesh. The reasons for not using night-time sanitary napkins are as follows: Mesh night-time sanitary napkins will get caught on the sutures, and the raised parts of sanitary napkins that are designed to fit the body will rub against the wound. If the mother has a caesarean section, she can directly use night-time sanitary napkins. The disadvantage of maternity pads is that they do not have wings like night-time sanitary napkins, so they are easy to move away. Physiological flushing bottle: One, because if you can't take a bath after giving birth, you will need a flushing bottle to wash away the lochia on the skin and clean the perineal wound. Firstly, it will be more comfortable for the mother, and secondly, it can keep the baby clean. You can also take it with you when you take the baby out, and you can use it to hold warm water to rinse the baby's butt after the baby has a bowel movement. Sitz bath: Use warm water and a little betadine to take a sitz bath, which can disinfect the wound and speed up the recovery of the wound. Disposable underwear: Because I had a cesarean section and stayed in a confinement center, I personally prepared 6 packs of 30 pieces. I only took 2 packs (10 pieces) to the hospital, and the rest were taken to the confinement center. Disposable underwear can be changed once a day without washing or drying, which is convenient. Because lochia is easy to get on the underwear, let the disposable underwear help! If it gets dirty, you don’t need to rub or wash it, just change it. Regardless of the mother’s delivery and confinement method, disposable underwear is a good helper during the postpartum confinement period. Camera + charger + mobile phone charger: no need to explain, right? XD Take pictures of babies, etc. Outfits for discharge such as coats, hats, scarves, umbrellas, etc.: No wind or sun during the confinement period (depending on personal beliefs) Baby swaddles, gauze clothes, hats Toilet paper, wet wipes, cotton swabs: They are there when you need them, no need to ask around and look for them Abdominal band: A must-have for caesarean section, and it depends on the individual for natural birth. After caesarean section, using an abdominal band can help fix the wound, so you can get out of bed earlier, go to the toilet or walk around. For natural birth, it can help the organs return to their original position and prevent the uterus and organs from sagging (?). However, some people say that they are afraid of sticking, so whether you are ready for a natural birth depends on the individual. Remember to install a safety seat in the car when you leave the hospital When you go to the hospital to give birth, you can bring or not, depending on your personal needs. Mask: Mainly for hygiene and fear of infection, I don’t wear one myself Thermos: for water and the like. I brought one but didn't use it...just buy bottled water. Socks: I brought them but didn’t wear them. I felt very hot after giving birth. Hair tidying stuff: You always need to tidy it up so as not to scare people. Of course, some mothers can just comb their hair to make it neat. Small mirror: can be used to look at the wound on the perineum and apply medicine, etc., or you can ask your husband to do it for you Hot and cold compress bags: I had no milk after a caesarean section, and the nurse said that hot compresses would help with breast engorgement. Blanket: The mother covers her partner during a caesarean section What can mothers prepare when going to a confinement center?Mother/baby's health insurance card: If the baby needs to get medicine, the mother's health insurance card will be used first. If the baby has a health insurance card, the baby's will be used. Night sanitary napkins/maternity pads: as above Breast pump: Breastfeeding mothers do not need to prepare one, just buy it if you need it in the future Milk warmer: Breastfeeding mothers do not need to prepare one. When the mother and baby are in the same room, they can warm the breast milk and feed the baby themselves. Breast pads: Buying a pack of two is more convenient and does not worry about milk leakage Lanolin cream: Apply to nipple injury or after breastfeeding. No need to wash it off before breastfeeding. It is OK if the baby eats it. It has many uses and can also be used as lip balm. Moms can google it more. Breast milk bags: Moms with high milk production will need them very much Disposable underwear: as above Raw rinse bottle: as above Abdominal band: As above Toiletries and personal care products: Slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste, several towels (instead of bath towels), hair bands, rubber bands, shower caps (not for washing hair), lotion, anti-wrinkle cream. You can bring your own shampoo, shower gel, and facial cleanser. Nursing bras: Wearing bras without underwires is more comfortable Small basin: You can use it to sterilize the breast pump by soaking it in hot water. If the confinement center has a sterilizer, this is not necessary. Thermos bottle: can be used as a cup to hold confinement water, etc., drink more milk Camera Phones and Chargers Nursing pillow: Some confinement centers have it. You can try it and buy one if you like it. Hot and cold compress bags: These are useful if you have chest problems. You can ask the nurse if you want to use hot or cold compresses. Supplements: Lecithin can prevent milk plugging and help milk to be discharged more easily. Mother's milk powder can supplement nutrition. It depends on the individual. Hair dryer: Some postpartum care centers have it. Safety seat/stroller: You will need it when you go out or go home, but you don’t need to bring it to the confinement center.... What do you need when you get home?Breastfeeding Breast pump/bottle/sterilizer/milk warmer/breast milk bag: breastfeeding moms don’t need to prepare Breast pads: No need to worry about embarrassment when you suddenly leak milk Nursing pillow: depends on personal needs Baby Products Baby clothes: gloves, socks, hats, belly bands, gauze clothes (personal babies probably only wear them for about a month and a half), butterfly clothes, bunny clothes (foot-covering jumpsuits), jumpsuits, two-piece clothes, etc. What clothes to wear depends mainly on the preferences of the parents. Towel: Just use a bath towel Sling: Use horizontal sling for the first three months, then you can carry it upright. It is recommended to buy a variety of carrying methods, depending on your personal preference. Diapers and wet wipes: essential. Washing baby poop is more environmentally friendly and clean. Shampoo and bath products: You can also wash with water, it depends on your personal preference Rash cream: replace prickly heat powder and serve as a barrier between baby's bottom and diaper Body lotion, facial cream: moisturizing and nourishing baby skin Crib or playbed: Buy based on the needs of parents Nail clippers: nail grinders, scissors, nail clippers, the choice is up to you Flatulence cream: massage and apply to the baby to relieve gas when flatulence occurs Baby mattress/pillow: choose according to your personal preference Comfort toys: Don’t rush to buy them. My son started liking the seahorse when he was about three months old. Bathtub: You can also use a large wash basin Pacifier: See baby's needs Gauze towel/small square towel: Super easy to use, can be used for baby bathing, wiping saliva, etc. The above is a list I compiled when I was pregnant. I hope it can help mothers. |
