How to cure baby's red buttocks quickly? The real reason for the red buttocks

Many new parents are very worried when they find that their baby has a red butt. They don’t know what caused it, nor do they know how to improve the situation. Don’t worry, the editor will teach you a few tricks to make your baby’s red butt heal faster.

How to cure baby's red bottom quickly

1. Take care of your baby at home

Let your baby's bottom breathe as much as possible. Check your baby's diaper every 2-3 hours and change it if it is wet. Change the diaper every time your baby has a bowel movement. Clean the diaper area gently - use a soft cotton cloth with warm water. If you want to use soap, try to use a fragrance-free, non-irritating soap. After washing, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Apply some ointment containing zinc oxide or vaseline to the diaper area every time you change the diaper. When your baby has diaper dermatitis, try to use disposable diapers instead of cloth diapers, because disposable diapers generally absorb water better than cloth diapers or diapers we make with scraps of cloth.

2. Take your baby to see a doctor

If diaper dermatitis worsens or does not improve after a few days of treatment and care at home, and the baby has diarrhea or a fever over 38.5 degrees, parents should go to the hospital to see a doctor in time. The doctor will prescribe antibiotics or antifungal ointments.

The real reason for red buttocks

In fact, it is mainly due to improper care by parents:

1. Failure to change diapers in time is the primary cause of diaper rash. Babies often defecate and urinate. If parents do not clean up in time after defecation and urination, the ammonia-producing bacteria in the feces will decompose the urea in the urine to produce ammonia, which will irritate the baby's delicate skin. In addition, urine immersion will cause diaper rash.

2. Habitually use only wet wipes to clean For convenience, many parents habitually use wet wipes to clean every time they change their baby's diapers, and then put diapers on the baby. It is this habitual action that may cause: even if the baby's diapers are changed in time, the baby will still get diaper rash.

This is because even the mildest wipes contain cleaning fluid, which can irritate the baby's delicate skin. Therefore, every time the baby poops, if parents use wet wipes for preliminary cleaning, please remember to wash it again with warm water, so that while cleaning the skin, you can also remove the cleaning fluid left on the baby's butt.

3. Put talcum powder on the baby's butt. Some parents may think that putting some talcum powder on the baby's skin will make it feel slippery and prevent prickly heat (but it can't). Every time they give their baby a bath, they will put a layer of talcum powder on the baby's butt. In fact, this may cause the baby's butt to be red. Because talcum powder is easy to harden after absorbing water, it not only cannot keep the baby's butt dry, but also irritates the baby's skin. Moreover, most talcum powders contain talcum powder, which will irritate the skin, and dust and particles can easily enter the vagina or urethra of female babies, which is not good for health.

Tip: If you use talcum powder on your baby, be careful not to let the dust get on the baby's lips and perineum.

How to prevent baby's diaper rash

1. Use diaper cream, olive oil or powder properly. After using a dry towel to dry the baby's buttocks, you can apply some ointment, cream or powder to protect the buttocks. However, it should be noted that you should use a medical cotton swab or cotton swab to dip it, and then roll it on the baby's buttocks. It must be thin and light, and do not apply too much, otherwise the applied part will not be able to contact the air, and the effect will be counterproductive.

2. Expose to the air for a few minutes. After completing the above operations, place a breathable diaper or diaper under the baby's buttocks, and then expose to the air for a few minutes to allow the baby's buttocks to fully dry.

3. Try to soak used baby diapers in water for half an hour before washing. Be sure to rinse off the soap or alkaline ingredients in the diapers and expose them to the sun until they are dry.

4. Avoid wrapping or padding your baby with items made of non-breathable materials, such as plastic sheets, non-woven fabrics, and canvas. Even if you use them outside your baby's diaper, it is not allowed. Using such items on your baby will cause an airtight environment that will harm your baby.

5. Some mothers will use toilet paper for their babies to save trouble, so as to prevent the babies from pooping in the diapers, but this is highly undesirable. Such practice may very well become the culprit of the baby's diaper rash.

How to apply diaper cream

1. First apply a small amount of diaper cream on the baby's skin surface. After a period of time, observe whether there is any allergic reaction. If there is no allergy, you can use it with confidence. If the baby is allergic to certain brands of diaper cream, you can choose other diaper creams suitable for the baby's skin.

2. Before applying diaper cream, please clean your baby's buttocks with soft wipes or clean water to prevent bacterial growth.

3. After applying the diaper cream, please dry your baby's buttocks to keep them dry.

4. Clean the baby's buttocks when changing diapers, then apply an appropriate amount. After applying the diaper cream, you can dry the baby's buttocks in the sun to better prevent diaper rash. Diaper cream can form a protective film on the skin surface to prevent urine and feces from directly irritating the skin. However, if the diaper rash lasts for more than seven days, please seek medical attention in time to prevent it from getting worse.

Warm reminder: mothers should use diaper cream on their babies in appropriate amounts and at appropriate times. If diaper rash has already occurred, wash it with warm water and apply diaper cream when the skin is dry again.
